We may or may not be headed for a long-term secular bear market as 2022 unfolds.
As you will be learning from our expert panel and many of our exhibiting companies/guests at Strategic Investment insights-Chicago 2022, we're in a time when all the old playbooks need to be thrown away. Actions in the months (and years?) ahead by The Federal Reserve and other central banks most certainly will affect the broad markets; often violently at times, we suspect (and both up and down.)
But there is one old "playbook" that deserves some dusting off: fundamental analysis of companies/stories.
In our view, one of the good things about the changes now underway in the markets is they will begin to favor investing. For so long it mattered little what reality was; instead-with the Fed and other banks printing money and having the markets' back-it was easy to throw money at all manner of fads, meme stocks, "passive" ETF's and the rest.
No more.
Once again it's going to matter how worthy companies are in their own right. What are their revenues and earnings? Do they have pricing power to allow them to stay ahead of inflation?
And...what "breakthroughs" might they be on the verge of delivering to mankind?
